The Joseph Gissy Show

Bring Me Your Biggest Problem.

Real advisors. Real financial businesses. Real problems. Instead of another polite industry interview, we take one meaningful business problem apart and work through what I would actually do.

Live Business Diagnostic 01 / Problem
The question What is actually keeping this business from getting where it wants to go?
The visible problem is rarely the entire problem. We look for the constraint underneath it.

The premise
Most business problems do not need another hour of vague conversation. They need somebody willing to identify the constraint, challenge the assumptions and decide what to do next.
Different by design

Not another financial-services interview show.

There are enough podcasts where two people agree with each other for 45 minutes. This format is built around diagnosis, disagreement, decisions and practical execution.

01

Start with a real constraint.

The conversation begins with the problem that matters: stalled growth, weak conversion, broken positioning, disconnected systems, operational friction, technology decisions or another constraint that is materially affecting the business.

02

Separate symptoms from causes.

“We need more leads” may be a marketing problem. It may also be an offer problem, a follow-up problem, a sales problem or a business-model problem. The point is to find the issue underneath the issue.

03

Challenge the comfortable answer.

If I think the premise is wrong, I will say so. A useful diagnosis is more important than maintaining agreement.

04

Leave with a point of view.

The objective is not to solve an entire company in one conversation. It is to create clarity around the next decisions, systems or experiments that deserve attention.

The format

One business. One meaningful problem.

The format is intentionally simple. Bring the problem you keep thinking about. We will work through the facts, assumptions and constraints until the next move becomes clearer.

01 / Apply

Tell me what is not working.

Submit the business, the problem and enough context to understand why it matters.

02 / Diagnose

Find the actual constraint.

We separate the visible symptom from the deeper bottleneck that may be producing it.

03 / Pressure Test

Challenge the assumptions.

We examine what you believe, what the evidence says and where the current logic may be failing.

04 / Decide

Build the next move.

We narrow the conversation into practical priorities, experiments or decisions worth making next.

Inside the conversation

The first answer is usually not the answer.

Good operators learn to keep digging. The show is built around finding the point where strategy, systems, behavior and execution actually meet.

What changed before the problem appeared?
What have you already tried?
What assumption is the current strategy built on?
Where does the process actually break?
What happens if you do nothing?
What would have to be true for the obvious solution to work?

Context Constraint Assumptions Evidence Options Next Move
Current diagnostic

“We need more leads” may not be a lead-generation problem.

Symptom Pipeline feels inconsistent.
Question Is demand weak, or is existing demand failing to convert?
Pressure test Positioning, offer, speed-to-lead, nurture, qualification and sales process all need examination.
Objective Find the bottleneck before spending more money feeding it.

Should you bring your problem?

The best episodes start with a participant who is willing to be specific, open the hood on the business and hear an answer they may not agree with.

Probably a fit
You run or help lead an advisory or financial-services business.
You have a specific problem with meaningful business consequences.
You can provide enough context to make the discussion useful.
You are willing to have your assumptions challenged.
The problem could teach other advisors or operators something.
You are interested in decisions, not generic motivation.
Probably not
You primarily want a promotional interview.
You are looking for individualized investment, tax or legal advice.
The problem cannot be discussed with enough specificity to be useful.
You only want validation for a decision already made.
You expect a polished conversation where nobody disagrees.
You are looking for generic personal consulting access.
Sometimes the most valuable thing someone can tell you about your business is that you are solving the wrong problem.
